How do I adopt a puppy?

When you decide that one of our Hunnington pups is the perfect addition to your family, we will collect an $800 deposit for your puppy. This deposit can be paid through invoice with a card. Your name will also be added to the list of the specific litter and sex of your choice.

Puppies are chosen in order of deposits received on the day of release. We do not hold puppies without a deposit. Your deposit is non-refundable, but can be transferred to another litter for up to one year from the date the deposit is made. The remainder of your balance will be paid on the day you bring your puppy home or before your puppy can be shipped to you. Methods of payments for the balance is check, cash, or credit card (3.5% Fee for card transactions).

Our puppies are released on weekends (Thursday – Saturday) or week days (when multiple litters are leaving the same weekend, releases will start Wednesdays). when they are between 6-8 weeks of age, depending on how each individual litter matures (older puppies are allowed to leave any day of the week). If you are unable to pick up your puppy on the day of release, we retain the right to charge a boarding fee of $30 per day until pick-up.

How do I decide which puppy is best me or my family?

All of our puppies at Hunnington Farms have a sweet and playful temperament. The parents are selectively bred to produce pups that are healthy in every way; both physically and mentally.  The most important thing to consider when selecting this addition to your family is to decide whether the Golden Retriever or Golden Doodle would be the perfect fit. Pictures can also be viewed on our website.

When can we visit the kennel and see our puppy?

Visitors are only allowed to our kennel by appointment only or on the day they pick-up their puppy. We are very careful about preventing the spread of disease to our dogs. We know that people want to see the kennel and meet their puppy’s parents prior to the purchase of a puppy, but our number one priority as breeders is to produce healthy dogs. We take every measure possible to protect them and to ensure their happiness. On our website, you can view pictures of the parents as well as pictures of the puppies. You may also join our Hunnington Farms Facebook page to speak with our growing Hunnington Family.

What can I do until my puppy comes home?

Our puppies will be released between 6-8 weeks of age. While you are waiting for your puppy you can educate yourself on what your puppy will need once you bring it home and decide where you will be keeping your puppy. Here is a list to help you prepare.

What should I expect when I pick-up my puppy?

On the day you pick-up your puppy, you will receive a small amount of the food that your puppy has been eating, a bowl, small blanket with the litters scent and a folder of information containing: microchip number, vaccination records, registration papers, each parents’ pedigree, copy of the parents’ Paw Print Genetics clearances, and copies of the parents OFA (Orthopedic Foundation for Animals) clearances. When you receive your puppy, it will be micro chipped, wormed, up-to-date on its vaccinations, and vet checked.

What is your health guarantee?

Should you need to return your puppy within the first 7 days of purchase, you may do so for a refund of the purchase price, minus the deposit, or minus $800 if no deposit was accepted.

After the initial 7 days, Hunnington Farms offers a 2 year replacement guarantee on all puppy sales. Should you decide within the first two years of your puppy’s life that you are dissatisfied, you may return the pup (with his/her informational packet,) in exchange for a puppy of equal value. We will not make any cash refunds. This guarantee is NOT valid in cases of neglect or injury.
